" Cesidianism is different, and it is radically different from any other religion because its authority is actually mathematically- or rationally-based. Cesidianism shares a trait more in common with science than with religion, especially with theoretical or non-experimental science. For a Cesidian, mathematics and geometry are infallible. Only mathematics and geometry can provide a rigorous enough foundation for religious and other kinds of truth.

Analytic theology, a guide for Cesidians as much as the Bible or the Pope is a guide to Christians, is in fact a field of applied mathematics. So far analytic theology has shown promising applications in not one but 18 different fields: Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, Communication, Economics, Ethics, Geography, History, Law, Linguistics, Management, Medicine, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Religion, Sociology, and Theology. This, and rigorous reasoning, is the way Cesidians get to know the truth.

Moreover, the truth is growing. Just yesterday, Cesidian law, another aspect of Cesidianism, made another extraordinary leap forward. While additional ideas about Cesidian law and the brain had been developed in August last year, these were just stunning interdisciplinary observations connected with analytic theology, and not actual Cesidian law developments.

My micronational colleague Lord Imperator, however, was the spark for actual new Cesidian law developments recently, and I have updated the article on Cesidian law at Internet-encyclopedia.org to show the field briefly, and in all its complexity and brilliance:

This is what truth is to a Cesidian. It is not necessarily a final or absolute statement on what truth is, but it is a good estimate, and there is certainty that the estimate will improve through time, just as mathematicians calculated an ever more precise value of pi through time. Cesidianism is the first religion I'm aware of that works in this way, although Buddhism comes close to this way of thinking.

To a Cesidian, Truth not only matters, but it is everything. You cannot build Utopias on flawed science or reasoning. You can approach paradisaical conditions only with truly optimized rules, i.e. the Truth, or the closest thing to it.

We baptise and ordain all humble human beings who appreciate this way.

The new religion honours both the Christ and the Buddha, since it believes that these two historical figures were the same soul in two different places and times, and treasures the ideas that both Jesus of Nazareth and Siddhartha Gautama brought to the world.

"The Catholic form of Christianity, while holding on to the traditional words of Jesus, Paul (or Saul) of Tarsus, the saints, and the biblical prophets, is essentially based on papal or human authority, otherwise papal encyclicals would be of minor value in Catholic dogma. The Pope is in fact declared infallible through Vatican I.

The Protestant form of Christianity, on the other hand, rejects papal infallibility but has its own infallibility dogma in scripture or the Bible.

Mahayana Buddhism essentially holds that the spiritual authority of the Buddha is infallible, reveres his empirical approach to religion, and is characterized by a greater distribution of human authority than under the major forms of Christianity with the doctrine of the "bodhisattva" or "helpers". Figure 1 below shows these relations in the analytic theology Cartesian plane:"

Cesidians hold neither papal nor scriptural authority sacred, and do not believe Buddha reached the height of enlightenment in his lifetime, so Buddha's spiritual "infallibility" must be taken with a grain of salt as much as papal or biblical "infallibility". Cesidianism is different, and in fact it is radically different from any other religion because its authority is actually mathematically or rationally-based. Here Cesidianism shares a trait more in common with science than with religion, especially with theoretical or non-experimental science. For a Cesidian, mathematics and geometry are infallible. No, not even experimental evidence is infallible, but theoretical or math-based evidence is. "

The Independent Long Island (ILI) project was officially started on August 20, 2007 with the writing of a formal press release, and has so far attracted media attention through LI Biz Blog, New York Times, and Times Argus articles. The news of the birth of the new country of ILI was even mentioned briefly on WCBS Newsradio 880, flagship radio station of the CBS Radio Network.

ILI is the new national entity made up of the Brooklyn and Queens boroughs of New York City, as well as the Nassau and Suffolk counties -- that is, the full geographical island of Long Island. While the development of a new country of ILI full of "Iliers" or "ILI nationals" is still viewed as ideal, the Governor pro tempore of ILI now also accepts a "51st state" alternative goal.

Regardless of what the project actually achieves in the long or short term, however, a degree of independence is still required even in the "51st state" scenario, since that would still require double secession: from both New York City and New York State.

ILI today has its own flag, coat of arms, and motto, and hopes to develop its own thriving and independent culture.

ILI has all the trappings of a new country. Geographic Long Island is the most populated island in the contiguous United States, and the 17th most populous island in the world, ahead of Ireland, Sicily, and Jamaica. With a combined population of over 7.5 million, the new nation would have more people than 39 states.

ILI also has four large airports, and a significant tourist area with the Hamptons region.

ILI is also technically advanced, since like another superpower it possesses not only a working .ILI TLD, but also its own intercontinental Internet, the Cesidian Root.

"" Independent Long Island is a new country project.

The term Independent Long Island (ILI) came about essentially for four reasons.

First, when Long Islanders wish to distinguish themselves virtually from other areas and people of the United States, they are forced to use the Principality of Liechtenstein's .LI Top-Level Domain (TLD). While this may be sensible esthetically and superficially, the .LI TLD provides no real technical advantages in search engines, since the Principality of Liechtenstein and Long Island are different entities, on different continents, of completely different natures, and they don't even share the same official language.

Second, colloquial usage of the term "Long Island" or "the Island" refers only to the suburban Nassau and Suffolk counties, while the more urban Brooklyn and Queens are not always thought of as being part of Long Island since they are politically part of New York City, although geographically they are still part of the island.

Third, the Native American name for Long Island is Paumanok, meaning "The Island that Pays Tribute". This was due to the fact that more warlike tribes in the areas surrounding the island forced the relatively peaceful Long Islanders to give tributes and payment in order to avoid attacks. Despite the name change since the days of Columbus, however, the character of the island has still not changed, since it is still surrounded by more belligerent tribes, who still demand tribute.

Fourth, a geographically and politically united Long Island needed a new name to reflect its territorial integrity more closely, a new name which also meant that it was no longer the island that pays tribute, and a name which translated into a unique and independent TLD, better representing Long Islanders. The new name that was given to the island is Independent Long Island, a name which clearly means that it no longer pays tribute, and the TLD which today represents this entity is the .ILI TLD, managed by the Cesidian Root.

Independent Long Island (ILI) today also has its own flag, and hopes to develop its own culture independent of the City of New York, the State of New York, and the United States. The Most Rev. Dr. Cesidio Tallini, President and Founder of the Cesidian Root, an Intercontinental Internet, is acting as Governor pro tempore of ILI, and will guide it towards complete secession from the United States.
